RECENT NEWS FROM DICK

Just thought I would followup a great weekend with some thoughts---the 22nd was as great as ever and for those of you who missed it I wanted you to know we missed you too--the weather was some of the best ever and definately over the past ten years or so---hope everyone enjoyed the courses as they were in great shape with the early Spring we have had---in an effort to reduce costs I had scheduled the Summit and of course that did not play up to our expectations and I felt bad about that--hope the accomomdations and dinners were received well as I thought Shanty once again did a nice job---I was thrilled to be with you this past weekend even though I didn't get a chance to play--I really did feel I got a chance to visit a little more with each of you

Thank you for your support during the "Inspirational Award" and I hope I was able to express my feelings from the heart---I will never forget that part of the Follies

As usual I will begin the process of contacting many of the resorts for the best deal out there including Grand Traverse,Boyne,Otsego,A-Ga-Ming,Loon (with new lodge),Treetops and of course Shanty---we will let you know early this Fall of our decision----Milt and I have also been talking that next year we will have some new guidelines for who will play from the Blue tees and who will play from the Whites---lets face it , this is not a tournament but as the word says it is the Follies so we want to make it fair and fun for everyone (don't forget we pride ourselves of mixing youth with age and we need to take that into consideration---more to follow on this)---by the way I heard a number of you who said it was really rewarding getting to know some of the younger guys and how nice they really are---that shouldn't be any surprise as the Follies has always been about getting to know good people

Another interesting fact as history repeats itself but again this year we had over 90% of the guys win something---only five guys did not win anything---thats a pretty neat stat---no I won't tell you who they were
